How are your english class going?

Okay, no offense, but I’m going to be totally honest on this blog, so maybe you wouldn’t like to read this (especially if you are the teacher)…

Well, about my experience learning english at university, I can say that I couldn’t be happier that I just have to take one of the four levels, I think it’s really boring, and it’s really useless, I haven’t truly learned anything new, and my pronunciation that is my personal weakness haven’t improved even a bit.

About the blogs, some topics were fun to wrote about, but I don’t really think them were much help improving our redaction skills, because no one were telling us what was wrong about them, so maybe you can realize that when you read what you wrote on more time, but maybe you can’t, and then you can’t improve anything…

I know that I’m a mess pronouncing but I’m not as much as a mess when I'm writing, that’s because in high school when I was bored, I usually sing in on some websites to chat in english with people around the world. And I know there are some web sites where you can start a video call so maybe if I try to do that I would can get to improve my english pronunciation.

Outside the english class, I don’t really use english, because it’s not necessary, but sometimes I traduce parts of some songs, and from time to time I found myself thinking on english, but I had did that since I started the high school anyway.

I think that I don’t have anything else to say, about this class, so that’s all.
I’m really hoping not to have to take this class again next semester!

Changes to my study programme

Well to be honest, I didn’t like this topic not even a bit, that’s maybe why it took to long to me write this blog, but anyway, here we go…

Those who had started to study biochemistry this year, have a new study program, so we are like literally lab rats, and since I haven’t even finished my first year of the career, I don’t think I could give you a valid opinion about it, but some teachers had told us that them don’t like this change. I think it’s too soon to see if it’s better or worst.

One of the bigger changes I can see into the new study program, is that previous students had all the laboratory assignments one semester later than us, I think that this had a good and a bad side, because in a career like biochemistry you are supposed to be working on a lab, so if you have this class from the first semester, you can immediately see if you like that or not, but since we are doing some lab assignments at the same time that we are doing the normal class, and sometimes those two class aren’t coordinated.

About the infrastructure, I think it’s okay, it obviously could be improved, but it’s not bad into this current way .

Recently I had heard some of my classmates talking about the teaching methods that our teachers use with us, I don’t really think there are some others real teaching methods, because, you need to know and understand the theory, so you can apply it, that’s why I think that the current methods are okay.

I know this is one of my worst blogs, but sincerely, this topic hasn’t inspired me even a little…

Summer Holidays ! ♥☀♥

I don’t really have anything planned for this summer holidays yet, mostly because I don’t even know when they are going to start…

This year I’m going home for Christmas and staying there until New Year Eve, and then I’m coming back to Santiago the first of January, that day is my sister’s birthday, I was really hoping to be able to stay there one day more, but I think it’s not possible.
my mom, my sister and my foreing sister.

After the exams I want to stay in Santiago until the end of January, and I’m trying to convince my sister to come here, so we can visit some museums and everything Santiago got to offer to a tourist,  but she really hates Santiago so I’m not sure if I would convince her or not.

my dad and I
In February I’m going home, there I would probably help my dad with his summer job “transport people for blueberry harvest”, that’s what I did last summer holidays, and I think I was pretty funny. Plus, there is a time when they pay a lot for working there, almost at the end of the summer so I would probably work there some few days.
In some point of the summer holidays, I think that my family and I are going to Villarica, Licanray and near, my parents promised me to go there this year, I really miss those places.

Some friends
Since there is an exchange student living in my home, I believe, we will be doing little travels every weekend, but we always do something like that every summer, anyway.

I'm hoping to be able to spend some time with my friends from school too, but their university got a strike even longer than ours, so I do not know if they would be able to hang out, because they would probably be in class all the summer.

My friends here and I had talked a lot about the summer too, about places we can go and things like that, I’m hope we could do some of that too.

Summer holidays, come as soon as you can, PLEASE!!

P.S. .+=☻
So be carefully with the sun!!

Addictions.

I actually believe that I don't know much of the drug of abuse topic, mainly because I’m a teetotaler person (that means that I do not drink alcohol, and don’t use drugs of abuse), and I don’t usually get involved with people who do that. So I just know about some drugs and their effect, by some books, movies, even some songs, and by other things like that.

Almost all the drugs have born like something to help the humans with some problem, for example, the morphine, it's a drug that was created to help people to endure the pain, but someone decided to mix it with many others ingredients and created the heroin, that is a hard drug of abuse; the same have happened with the creation of almost all the drugs. That’s mainly why I think that all the drugs have been born like something good and them were created to help us, but we insist in pass from that to something that bring us more pleasure in exchange for our health.

When someone is under drugs of abuse effect, there are plenty attitudes why you can see it, like sudden change in behavior, careless with personal presentation, red or glassy eyes, dilated pupils, excessive laughter out of control, etcetera. Apart of all of these effects, there are plenty dangers into the consumption of drugs of abuse, because some of them make your heart run faster and faster and this can cause heart attacks, others make your brain dumb  and kill your neurons, others got your lungs black, or kill your liver, etcetera.

Once you start to consume drugs into a regular way, you get used to the effect, and you need more and more so you can feel the same you felt before, and like that make you feel pleasure, you need to keep taken drugs, so you can feel good.

I don’t really know many cases of drugs of abuses addiction, but I know people who are addicted to other things, for example, my mother is addicted to coffee, she needs to drink like 2 cups daily, or she get a hard head ache, and my cousin is addicted to coca-cola, he needs to keep him sugar level up all day, or he get upset for anything, I think that some years ago, I was kind of addicted to read (now I have no time to do it), I used to read like two books per week.

Post-graduate studies (?

Like I say in my last post, I’m absolutely sure that once I finish my career I will need to have a PhD, if I still want to do scientific investigation, but I’m still not sure of the subject I would select to do it.

Even if I don’t know for sure, I think that I would like to do a PhD in something like genetic; mostly because like I say before, I want to discover the secrets of our world, and I do actually believe that our DNA keep the most amazing secrets of all. However, seeing my current grades in biology, I don’t know if it is going to be the best choose.

Like I haven’t decided anything about doing a PhD, I don’t truly know where I would like take it, because I think that going to another country would be much better, but some teachers had told us that PhDs in Chile are pretty good too.

I don’t think that I would ever like the combination of working and studying, I can hardly do one of them in a semi-good way so I think that I couldn’t handle it, but I don’t want to depend on my parents even then, so I would love to get some kind of scholarship, but if I don’t I would probably need to work and study at the same time and probably take part-time classes.

However, I'm still in my first year, so I think I have plenty time to think about in what I want to specialize. :)

My future job :)

I haven’t truly imagined my future once I get out from the University, I mean, I been imagining a lot of possibilities, but I don’t have a favorite one or anything like that. But since I’m studying Biochemistry, I imagine myself like a scientist.

I would love to be all my life doing research, mainly because I want to learn about everything, I want to understand the way our world works, and while I’m doing that, if I get the chance to help the humanity, by discovering something really good, that would be pretty nice too, but that isn’t my truly reason to be doing that. I don’t really know in what I would like to be specialized, but for be working in what I want, I already know I would need to have a PhD, mainly because without it you are no one, at least, in scientist world.

I think that I would like to work on a laboratory, even if I’m indoors, and doing similar things every day, I had always feel relax, calm, and only happiness when I’m inside a lab, even when it get stressful. I suppose that’s one of the reasons why I chose my career; it brings a lot of chances to work on a lab.

I suppose that if I’m working on a lab, I wouldn’t have so many opportunities to travel, at least not related to work stuff. But I would like to move to England, and work there, I really like that country, I don’t know why.

When I choose my career, I had never thought about the money, for me that isn’t really something that much important, I mean, it’s something important, but I’m not going sell my soul just to get more money, I think that it doesn’t matter how many money you have, but how you use it.

Music is in my soul ♥ ♫♪

I do actually think that my favorite kind of music is the rock, it’s not the only one I’m used to listen, but I prefer it over any other styles. I think that my major reason to think that way, is the letter from the songs, rock do always have something interesting to say into the song’s lyrics, you can’t say that about the others music styles.

I think that something that you absolutely need into any rock song is the drums, I mean, them define the rhythm into the song, and without them nothing would be the same. I would love to learn how to play the drums someday, I have absolutely zero musical skills, but I’m sure I can still try and see how it goes.

When I’m listening music, I usually listen to a singer or a band, until I get bored of them, and then I do it over and over again, but there are some bands I could listen forever and never get bored of them, like “El cuarteto de nos” it’s an Uruguayan band, and I really love their music, and the exited the singer and compositor get when he’s talking about him songs, that just makes me love them more. Another band I absolutely love is “Bowling for soup” it’s an American group, and them are more famous than “El cuarteto de nos”, I found them while I was looking for the opening song of Phineas and Ferb, the full version is much better, I really love it.

I think that I had always got something with the no that much popular music; when I was a child my parents usually were listening them favorite music, so I grew up full of old singers, like “Nicola Dibari”, “Manolo Galvan”, “Los Nocheros”, etcetera, is  not like I don’t like their music, but I don’t listen them anymore. Then when I was like 10 or 12, I was always listening rap, “Mc Aese” was my favorite singer, his songs were great, plus he was really beautiful.

Of course apart of all the other music, there would always be some space in my heart for Disney movies songs, I do really love them all, but my favorite would always be “Hombre Fuertes” from Mulan, I just love it

The most amazing organ in our body!!

I do actually think that every organ that we got is amazing by itself, but for me the most amazing of all is the human brain, I mean, he control everything about us, even the things we don’t realize that we are doing at every moment.

The brain is the most complex organ in our bodies, I think that, that is why he takes care of almost everything about us, he is like the big boss in the human body, so he says to the other organs what them should do, and he takes care of them if they don’t, obviously by regulating the hormones concentration, or inhibiting some process.

Apart of regulate our organs works, the brain is where we generates ours feelings; our memories are trapped somewhere inside it, and more important than any other thing, our consciousness, that is supposed to be what basically make us different  from the other animals, and is still a mystery to the scientific how it was generated.

It’s amazing how everything about us is trapped in approximately 1180 cm3 in our head, and it can be attacked by so many illnesses, like Parkinson, Alzheimer, depression, bipolarity, etc.

The only way we can protect this vital organ is by using it constantly, eating healthy food, making sure the rest of ours bodies is healthy, being a social person, etc.

My best holidays ever!

When I was a child, my family and I went to the south of Chile many times on the holidays, because my dad’s family lives there, I mean in Villarica, Pucon, Lican Ray, Loncoche, etcetera. So we visited them and stayed in beautiful places for a low cost.

I'm trying hard to remember my best holidays ever, and I think that they were on the summer between 2013 and 2014
Why was it the best trip ever??

Well, before that travel there were like 3 years since the last time I had been there, so I was very excited, and my parents even bought a special car so we can get to my favorite place in the world (Rio Blanco, a place lost in the mountains) without any problem.
My foster grandparents
Our trip lasted like 6 or 7 days.

Before we arrived to house of my foster grandparents in Villarrica, we went to Lonconche and I met for the first time the biological father from my dad, he is a nice person I think.

My foster grandparents were so happy to see us after so long that they made a big roast, and we spent one night there.

Next day we moved to my aunt house, we love to camp in her patio, she always want us to stay in her house, but we always do insist.

Our tent in my aunt patio
From my aunt house we went to some other places, Pellaifa lake was the one I like the most, when we come back from there to the house of my aunt, my uncle told me an amazing history about it. Before it was a lake, a town were placed there, many years ago, and then an earthquake or a volcano( I can’t remember it pretty well) get it sunken, that’s why if you go there you can see a lot of sunken trees, and there is even a chimney from an old house, but I didn’t knew it when I was there, so I’m wishing to come back there and look for that chimney.

Hot springs in Rio Blanco
After that we move to  Río Blanco that’s a sector near Pucón but to the mountain, I don’t know how to explain how to get there, but it’s absolutely amazing, there are some natural hot springs and  you can camp next to them, like 2 meter from them, that’s where my tent were and there is no electricity, or drinking water except for the river one, I just love that place. We stayed there for 2 days, and then we get back to the sad reality.

I’m really hopping to go there this summer!

A country I would like to visit ♥

Just like everybody else, there are so many places I want to see someday but I’m not capable of choose one over another, so I made a top ten list of places I want to travel someday. I already visited some of them (actually just one) , and other even does not exist, but I would love to travel there.

So, here we go!

Number 10: Bermuda Triangle.

Ok, maybe it’s a bit weird to start my ranking with something like this, but I’m a curious person, so I  want to try, go there and see what happen there by myself; and If I’m a lucky person, maybe I could be back and tell everybody what I saw.

 Number 9: Guanajuato, Mexico.

Well, apart of be a beautiful place, there is something amazing that happen in Guanajuato’s ground, in their cemetery exactly. The ground there make the corpses become mummies, into a natural way. So maybe when I get old, I would move to Guanajuato, so I dead there, then I can become a mummy, and I can be in a mummies museum.

 Number 8: Costa Rica.

I just have one reason why I want to travel to Costa Rica, and it is to do a volunteer job working with slothful, whit some friends. It’s a bit expensive to do this, but I think it is amazing, so I want to try this in not quite long time, this travel should be done before leaving the University, I think.

Number 7: The Forbidden City of Beijing, China.

I don’t actually think that this one does need so much explanation. I wish to travel there and just see everything. Apart of the Forbidden City, everything related to this country makes me want to travel and see it for myself. Plus I learned a bit of Chinese in the school, so I think I would survive there.

Number 6: Egypt.

I actually think that I don’t know anything about this country, but I absolutely want to see the pyramids. For me it is something like magic the way them were built, without the current technologies. I really want to see it by myself.

Number 5: Narnia.

Well I know that it really doesn’t exist, but I got this crazy theory, that says that Narnia is where you go when you die. And I really hope this is real, I absolutely want to go to the magic world of Narnia when I die, I mean, ¿Who wouldn't?

Number 4: Paris, France.

My reason to want to go to Paris is very different from everybody’s reason, I don’t care to see the Eiffel Tower or anything like that; I just want visit the catacombs from Paris, them are full of human bones, from centuries ago, when the black death attacked France, it’s a bit weird, but I surely want to see that.

Number 3: Harbin international ice and snow sculpture festival, China.

My first Chinese teacher told me about this magic festival, she lived somewhere near to Harbin, and since then I’m wishing to travel there. This must be very fun. You can even stay in ice made hotel!!

Number 2: England.

I don’t really know why, but I’m in love with this country, I absolutely want to go there someday, maybe even move there. But more of any other thing I want to travel to England to meet J.K. Rowling, the writer or Harry Potter series.

 Number 1: Home.

Like any other student who had move from his home, that is the place I want to be the most, I miss my family, my dog, my bed, everything, and just like everybody else, I take every opportunity I got to travel home. So I can stay with them for some days, that is actually the place I want to be the most, but I want to see the world anyway.

This is a bit long, Sorry.
